Men's Golf Gears Up for AMCC Championships

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's golf team will travel to Pittsburgh, PA and the Club at Nevillewood for the 2022 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Championships on Monday and Tuesday.

AMCC Championship News & Notes

* The stroke-play tournament is played over two days for 36 holes (18 holes on Monday, 18 holes on Tuesday)
* Tournament pairings for day one are: Hilbert/La Roche at 9 am. Followed by Mt. Aloysius / Pitt-Bradford / Hilbert at 9:20 a.m. Penn State Behrend / Penn State Altoona / Pitt-Greensburg tee off at 10:10 p.m.
* Tuesday's action will commence at 9 a.m. with pairings to be determined by the day-one results.
* The tournament team champion will receive the AMCC's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament which will be held May 16-19 in Nicholasville, KY

Behrend News & Notes
* The Lions are looking for their 11th AMCC Title in program history
* Last year, Behrend earned second place with a team score of 667
* The Lions carded a 330 on day one and a 337 on day two
* Behrend last won the AMCC Championships in the spring of 2020
* The top five Behrend golfers for the championships are: 1) Ryan Johnson, 2) Jake Caldwell, 3) Phil Pedano, 4) Daniel McMaster, 5) Jacob Verner
* Johnson was second on the team last year and tied for eighth place overall with a 169 (84-85)
* Johnson leads the team with a 78.89 scoring average, tying for sixth in the conference
