STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's golf team is in fifth place out of six teams after day one of the Penn State Division III Challenge hosted by Penn State Altoona at the Penn State Blue/White Course on Saturday.

* The day was shortened to nine holes of competition due to weather conditions
* Jake Caldwell (Belle Vernon, PA/Belle Vernon) and Daniel McMaster (Murrysville, PA/Greensburg Central Catholic) are tied for 11th overall after day one
* Caldwell and McMaster each shot a 41 to lead the team
* Tyler Parkhurst (Union City, PA/Union City) was third on the squad and tied for 25th place with a 44, while Ryan Johnson (Centre Hall, PA/Penns Valley) tied for 28th (45)
* Jake Verner (Venetia, PA/Seton LaSalle) scored a 46 for nine holes to tie for 31st after day one
* Penn State Altoona is in first place with a team score of 151
