CRESSON, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's golf team is tied for seventh place out of 15 teams after day one of the Mountain Valley Collegiate Classic held on Saturday.

Key Moments:

* The Lions are tied with AMCC foe Mt. Aloysius with a team score of 321 (+33)
Jake Caldwell (Belle Vernon, PA/Belle Vernon), Jared Franc (Erie, PA/Fairview) and Owen Blum (Warren, PA/Warren Area) each had two birdies in the first round
* Caldwell had two birdies on the front nine and Franc recorded them on the back nine
* Caldwell is tied for 14th with sixth other golfers with a +6 (78), while Blum tied for 21st with a 79
* JR Hufnagel (Evans City, PA/North Catholic) tied for 29th, carding an 81 and Franc tied five others for 40th overall (83)  
* Daniel McMaster (Murrysville, PA/Greenburg Central) finished with an 86 for the round to tie for 52nd place
