Behrend Men's Golf in 15th at Mountain Valley Collegiate Classic

ALTOONA, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's golf team is in 15^th place with a team score of 324 after day one of the Mountain Valley Collegiate Classic hosted by Penn State Altoona at the Sinking Valley Country Club on Friday afternoon.

* The Lions carded a team score of 324 for the 18 holes, shaving 21 strokes off their first outing of the season last weekend
* Daniel McMaster (Murrysville, PA/Greenburg Central) led the team once again with a team-low score of 79
* McMaster carded a 39 (+3) on the first nine and a 40 on the back nine to sit tied for 36^th place individually
* Owen Blum (Warren, PA/Warren) tallied a birdie on hole 13 to finish two over on the back nine for an 81 total
* Blum enters day two tied for 54^th place along with teammate Liam Good (Pittsburgh, PA/North Allegheny)
* Good, competing in his first collegiate outing, carded a 41-40 and birdied hole four for a score of 81
* Ethan Carll (Tionesta, PA/North Clarion) is tied for 69^th, getting the fourth best score on the team with an 83
* Carll, like Blum, tallied a birdie on hole 13
* Johnny Palmieri (Warren, PA/Eisenhower) finished fifth on the team and tied for 80^th place overall with an 85 for his first collegiate invitational
* Palmieri tallied a 43 on the front nine and a 42 on the back nine
* Heidelberg was in first place for the par 72 course with a 302 total, followed by Farmingdale State in second and Penn State Altoona in third.
