James Bowen returns for his ninth season as the head men's and women's golf coach for the Penn State Behrend Lions. He was appointed the head coach in the fall of 2006-2013, before announcing his retirement. Bowen was a two-time AMCC Coach of the Year and mentored two AMCC Players of the Year and one Newcomer of the Year.

The Lions captured the AMCC Championship and advanced to the NCAA Championship in 2012 and 2013, earning back-to-back conference titles for the first time in program history. Four members were named to the All-Conference team, while Dante Vetica earned individual medalist honors and Player of the Year. Nicholas VanDamia was chosen Newcomer of the Year.

Coach Bowen's interest in the development of player skills and positive motivation have been very strong assets to the program. In addition to his coaching responsibilities, Bowen works at Lawrence Park Golf Course.
