Men's Soccer Shuts Out Westminster

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - The Penn State Behrend men's soccer team defeated Westminster 2-0 on Saturday afternoon to earn their second win of the season.

The Lions used a goal by Jack Leslie (Mars, PA/Mars) at the 11:40 mark to take an early lead.  Eric Vunovic (North Huntingdon, PA/Norwin) assisted on the play to record his second point of the season.  Behrend used a strong defensive effort to take the 1-0 lead into half time.

As the second half moved on, the Lions added another goal by Aaron Meehl (North East, PA/North East) to take control of the contest.  Jake Gamble (Butler, PA/Butler) tallied his first assist on the play to earn his ninth point of the year.

Behrend goalkeeper, Chris Bolea (Ambridge, PA/Ambridge) made four saves to earn the victory and secure his second shut out of the season.

The Lions will be back in action on Tuesday to take on Case Western.  Game time is 5 p.m.
