ALTOONA, Pa. - The Penn State Behrend men's soccer team shut out Penn State Altoona 2-0 on Saturday afternoon for their fourth straight Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) victory.

The Lions (7-6-1, 5-1 AMCC) used a 9-2 advantage in shots and a strong defensive effort to earn their fifth conference win.

Garrett Fiscus (Russell, PA/Eisenhower) got the Lions on the board late in the first half for a 1-0 lead.  Sean Polosky (Upper St. Clair, PA/Upper St. Clair) dished the ball to an open Fiscus to earn the assist.  Behrend would take the 1-0 lead into half time.

With the second half underway, the game remained 1-0 for the next 40 minutes.  At the 87:51 mark, Jake Gamble (Butler, PA/Butler) netted his 11th goal of the season to give the Lions a comfortable 2-0 lead with under three minutes remaining.  Jimmy Belack (Upper St. Clair, PA/Upper St. Clair) continued his outstanding freshman campaign by finding Gamble to tally his fifth assist of the year.

For Gamble, the insurance goal was the 33rd of his career, tying him with former Behrend player Jerry Tortella for the all-time school record.

Senior goalkeeper, Chris Bolea (Ambridge, PA/Ambridge) held strong in goal recording one save in the victory.

The Lions will continue AMCC action on Wednesday with a home match at Family First Sports Park against Hilbert.  Game time is 1 p.m.
