ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's soccer team improved its record to 3-1-1 with a 2-0 victory over Grove City on Wednesday night.
Eric Vunovic (North Huntingdon, PA / Norwin) notched both goals for the Lions on a sweltering evening to bring his season total to four on the season.
Jarrod Wassell (Hollidaysburg, PA / Hollidaysburg) earned his second shut-out of the year for Behrend, who remained unbeaten at home (3-0) in 2013.
Vunovic went low to open the scoring following a terrific centering pass from junior Jimmy Belack (Upper St. Clair, PA / Upper St. Clair) at the 19:03 mark of the first half. The Lions would cushion that lead in the second half when Vunovic put on a dazzling display of moves to beat three Wolverine defenders in the box and make it a 2-0 game.
The Lions will be back in action Saturday, when they play at Westminster at 3:30 p.m.
