Lions Power Past Franciscan, 7-1

ERIE, Pa. -- Anthony Crivelli (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) scored two goals and Seth Connor (Brookville, PA/Brookville) added two assists to lead the Penn State Behrend men's soccer team past Franciscan on Saturday afternoon.

On a day when Behrend honored their 1978 and 2003 championship teams, the Lions (7-2-1, 1-0 AMCC) did their predecessors proud by opening up a commanding 4-1 halftime lead. It was the third consecutive game in which the Lions have jumped out to a quick lead.

In the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opener for both teams, the Lions scored early and often to take control. Cravelli's first goal came just 3:37 in to give the Lions the advantage. Moments later, Sean Polosky (Upper St. Clair, PA/Upper St. Clair) scored to make it 2-nil. Kyle Coonelly (Sewickley, PA/Quaker Valley) tacked on his third goal of the year to secure the three-score halftime advantage.

Just minutes into the second half, Crivelli struck again to put Behrend up 5-1. The freshman forward is in the midst of a blazing hot streak, having scored four goals in the Lions past three games.

Tyler Presloid (Punxsutawney, PA/Punxsutawney) scored his first career goal in the second half to cushion the advantage for Behrend.

Edwin de St. Aubin scored the lone goal of the contest for Franciscan (2-6, 0-1 AMCC), who fell to 0-6 all-time against the Lions.

Behrend will take on D'Youville Tuesday, October 1 at Behrend Field.
