BUFFALO, NY – Parker Healy scored the only goal of the match to push Medaille past the Penn State Behrend men's soccer team 1-0 on Tuesday evening.
Healy's goal, which came at the 54:54 mark of the second half, followed a tense but scoreless first period of action.
Tuesday's defeat marked the end of a five game winning streak for the Lions (9-3-1, 3-1 AMCC) and their first conference setback of 2013. Behrend had not suffered a loss since September 17th.
Goalkeeper Jarrod Wassell (Hollidaysburg, PA/Hollidaysburg) made three saves for the Lions, and AMCC Defensive Player of the Week Eric Hackworth (Pittsburgh, PA/Shaler) continued his stellar play at the back end.
Jimmy Belack (Upper St. Clair, PA/Upper St. Clair) fired four shots for Behrend, and Hackworth and Eric Vunovic (North Huntingdon, PA/Norwin) each had three.
The Lions will look to regroup when they travel to take on Pitt-Greensburg on October 12 at 1 p.m.
