HOUGHTON, NY – Paul Seddon scored two Houghton goals and Kevin Miranda chipped in both assists to push the Highlanders past the Penn State Behrend men's soccer team 2-0 on Wednesday night.
Despite outshooting Houghton 4-1 in the second half, the Lions (10-4-1, 4-1 AMCC) were shutout for just the third time this season.
Seddon put the Highlanders (11-1-1) on the board with less than four minutes remaining in the first half. He would then add the capper at the 76:28 mark of the second session to give Houghton the two goal advantage.
Eric Hackworth (Pittsburgh, PA/Shaler) paced Behrend with three shots, but was unable to find the back of the net. Eric Vunovic (North Huntingdon, PA/Norwin) and Jimmy Belack (Upper St. Clair, PA/Upper St. Clair) each added two.
The Lions will return to AMCC action on Saturday, October 19th when they host Mt. Aloysius. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
