ERIE, Pa. - With 1:45 remaining in the contest Nick Stewart (Pittsburgh, PA/Keystone Oaks) put in the gaming winning goal coming from a beautifully delivered ball from Jimmy Belack (Upper St. Clair, PA/Upper St. Clair).
Behrend possessed the ball for most of the first half but was unable to take advantage of a couple scoring opportunities. The Lions best opportunity in the first half came when Anthony Crivelli (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) just missed a shot that could have gave Behrend the lead. Crivelli played extremely well, creating multiple scoring opportunities.
Jarrod Wassell (Hollidaysburg, PA/Hollidaysburg) recorded his second shutout of the season as he and the entire Lions defense were rock solid on the night.
Behrend will travel to Grove City on Tuesday for a late afternoon contest against the Wolverines at 4:00 pm.
