Belack's Three Goals Lead Lions Past St. Vincent

ERIE, PA. – Jimmy Belack (Upper St. Clair, PA/Upper St. Clair) scored three goals to lift the Penn State Behrend men's soccer team past St. Vincent 6-0 Wednesday night.

Belack scored twice early in the first half and once in the second half to lead the Lions past St. Vincent. His first goal came just 8:15 into the game when he beat a Bearcat defender and put the ball in with his left foot. Just under four minutes later, Belack's low shot in the box made it past St. Vincent (2-8) goalkeeper Sam Hayward to give the Lions a 2-0 lead. After a beautiful move to get by the defender, Belack notched his third goal of the game at the 62:27 mark. Belack now has six goals on the season, as well as three assists.

The Lions (6-3, 0-0 AMCC) dominated the game outshooting the Bearcats 22-3 and scored five first-half goals.

Anthony Crivelli (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) continued his hot streak adding a goal at the 19:07 mark. Crivelli has three goals in Behrend's last two games and now has five this season.

At the 24:04 mark, Anton Benedikt (Madison, NJ/Madison) scored his first goal of the season chipping the ball just over the goalie's head to give Behrend an early 4-0 lead. Jared Myers (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) scored his first goal of his career as the freshman nailed a low shot to the left corner of the net.

Christian Harrington, (Warren, PA/Warren Area) Sean Polosky (Upper St. Clair, PA/Upper St. Clair) and Zhafar Dzhabarov (Erie, PA/Central) all notched assists in the 6-0 victory.

Colton Smith (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) made his first career start in the net making one save and not allowing any goals. In the second half, Will Cole (Russell, PA/Eisenhower) saw his first action of the season in the net, also making one save and allowing no goals.

The Lions open up conference play Saturday against Penn State Altoona at 3:30 pm.
