Lions Down Hilbert, 6-1

HAMBURG, N.Y. – The Penn State Behrend men's soccer team blew out Hilbert Tuesday night with an impressive 6-1 victory.

The Lions (8-2, 2-0 AMCC) jumped out to an early lead when Anthony Crivelli (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) notched his sixth goal of the year just 3:43 into the game. Just five minutes later Jimmy Belack (Upper St. Clair, PA/Upper St. Clair) gave Behrend an early 2-0 lead when he drilled a point-blank shot off of a rebound. Belack would later add a second goal at the 54:46 mark when he was able to put in his own rebound.

Jarrod Wassell (Hollidaysburg, PA/Hollidaysburg) started the game in the net for the Lions and did not allow a goal making two saves.

Matt Baleno (Pittsburgh, PA/Plum) pushed across his first goal of the season at the 30:17 mark nailing a kick from the top of the box. Also scoring his first goal of the year, Kyle Beckett (Suffolk, VA/Kings Fork) scored just five minutes into the second half nailing a header to the lower left corner of the net.

Zhafar Dzhabarov (Erie, PA/Central) scored his second goal of the season with approximately 15 minutes left in regulation.

Christian Harrington, (Warren, PA/Warren Area) Sean Polosky (Upper St. Clair, PA/Upper St. Clair) and Sean Gallagher (Bethel Park, PA/Bethel Park) all added assists for Behrend.

The Lions will look to continue their undefeated record in conference play Saturday at Franciscan at 3:00 p.m.
