Lions Shutout Pitt-Greensburg, Win Eighth Straight

ERIE, Pa. - Christian Harrington (Warren, PA/Warren Area) scored two goals to lead the Penn State Behrend men's soccer team past Pitt-Greensburg Friday night by a score of 3-0. The Lions (13-3, 7-0 AMCC) continued their red-hot play recording their eighth straight win and fifth straight shutout.

Jimmy Belack (Upper St. Clair, PA/Upper St. Clair) got Behrend on the board early just four minutes into the game with his team-leading 15th goal of the season. Kyle Beckett (Suffolk, VA/Kings Fork) fed Belack on the left-footed shot to the lower right corner of the net. This marks the eighth straight game Belack has scored.

Christian Harrington led the way for the Lions netting a pair of goals against the second place Pitt-Greensburg Bobcats (8-6-1, 4-2-1 AMCC). Harrington's first goal was set up by a nice pass from Anthony Crivelli (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) through the defense. Harrington drilled the shot into the upper right corner of the net at the 13:16 mark. Harrington scored again from the top of the box on a beautiful cross delivered by Sean Polosky (Upper St. Clair, PA/Upper St. Clair) with ten minutes left in the half.

The Lion's dominated possession of the ball thanks to great play on defense by Mike Worthy, (Pittsburgh, PA/Upper St. Clair) Evan Augustine (Pittsburgh, PA/South Park) and Kevin Vock (Bridgeville, PA/South Fayette). Jarrod Wassell (Hollidaysburg, PA/Hollidaysburg) was once again solid in the net making two saves and notching his sixth shutout of the season.

With just two conference games remaining, Behrend controls its own destiny in the race for an AMCC regular-season championship. The Lions hit the road to take on D'Youville Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
