Belack Sets Career Assists Mark

ERIE, Pa. - Jimmy Belack (Upper St. Clair, PA/Upper St. Clair) broke the Penn State Behrend men's soccer team career assists record in a 7-2 victory over D'Youville Wednesday night. Belack also scored a goal, his team-leading 16th of the year. The win marks the Lions (14-3, 8-0 AMCC) ninth straight victory.

Anthony Crivelli (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) notched the first goal of the game at the 6:11 mark to give Behrend the early lead. Crivelli also scored just after halftime in the 49th minute and added an assist.

Anton Benedikt (Madison, NJ/Madison) recorded his fourth goal of the season late in the first half with under four minutes until the break. Benedikt's goal was the first of three for the Lions in a ten minute span.

Behrend's offense dominated the game generating seven goals and outshooting D'Youville (4-8-2, 3-3-1 AMCC) 20-6.  Just after halftime, Nick Stewart (Pittsburgh, PA/Keystone Oaks) knocked in his second goal of the year. Late in the game, Sam McSherry (Stow, OH/Stow-Munroe Falls) chipped in his second goal of the year.

Jimmy Belack, Sean Gallagher, (Bethel Park, PA/Bethel Park) Mike Worthy, (Pittsburgh, PA/Upper St. Clair) Anthony Crivelli and Zhafar Dzhabarov (Greensburg, PA/Hempfield) all contributed assists in the blowout victory.

Behrend remains undefeated in AMCC play and can clinch the regular season title with a victory at Mt. Aloysius Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
