Seven Men's Soccer Players Named to All-Conference Team

ERIE, Pa. – Seven members of the Penn State Behrend men's soccer team were selected to the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) All-Conference team. Senior Jimmy Belack (Upper St. Clair, PA/Upper St. Clair) earned Player of the Year honors while Jarrod Wassell (Hollidaysburg, PA/Hollidaysburg) was named Defensive Player of the Year.

Joining Belack and Wassell on the All-AMCC first team were juniors Christian Harrington (Warren, PA/Warren Area) and Mike Worthy (Pittsburgh, PA/Upper St. Clair). Sophomores Anthony Crivelli (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) and Evan Augustine (Pittsburgh, PA/South Park) were selected to the All-Conference second team. Junior Sam McSherry (Stow, OH/Stow-Munroe Falls) earned his first ever All-Conference selection joining the third-team.

A three-time All-Conference selection, Belack has had a spectacular senior season leading the AMCC with 48 points and 17 goals, as well as tied for the conference lead with 14 assists. He has netted seven game-winning goals, and earlier this season broke the programs all-time assists mark.

In the net, Wassell has been nothing short of impressive. A three-time All-Conference selection, he earned his second-straight spot on the first team posting a 15-3 record and a 0.56 goals against average. He has recorded nine shutouts, and allowed only 10 goals in 19 starts.

Solidifying the midfield for the Lions, Harrington and McSherry earned their first All-Conference honors. Harrington has started every game this season adding seven goals, including four game winners. McSherry had a breakthrough season, starting 16 games in the midfield and scoring three goals.

Crivelli has had a remarkable sophomore season, following up on his Newcomer of the Year selection last year. He is second in the conference in points (37), third in goals (15) and fourth in assists (7). Crivelli drilled the game-winning goal in the AMCC Championship in a 1-0 defeat of Medaille.

Worthy and Augustine were selected to the All-Conference squad for the first time in their careers, as backbones of the Lions defense. In 21 games, the defense held opponents to just 13 goals and recorded 13 shutouts.
