NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – Christian Harrington (Warren, PA/Warren Area) scores with 34 seconds left in regulation to lift the Penn State Behrend men's soccer team past Westminster 1-0 Tuesday night.
The Lions (4-1-1) kept excellent pressure on the Titans for the entire game and were eventually rewarded when Harrington tallied his first goal of the season in the 90th minute to lift Behrend to victory.
The Lions outshot Westminster (3-2-1) in each half by margins of 5-2 and 8-6. The Lions came out firing as they took both shots in the first two minutes. Behrend quickly gained control for the remainder of the half not allowing another opportunity for their opponents.
The second half was a closer battle than the first as both teams had opportunities to score but could not find the back of the net until seconds remained when the Lions took the lead on their 13th shot of the game. Will Cole (Russell, PA/Eisenhower) made three saves earning his second win of the season.
Behrend returns home Friday night when they take on the Gators of Allegheny at 7 p.m.
