BRADFORD, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's soccer team recorded their third consecutive shutout after beating Pitt-Bradford (1-8-1, 0-4) 3-0 in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) play Wednesday afternoon.
The Lions (10-1-1, 4-0) continued their defensive dominance, recording their seventh shutout of the season and third of their four conference games. Behrend's defense held the Panthers to only four total shots, none of which were on goal. They also did not surrender a corner kick.
On the other side of the ball, Anthony Crivelli (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) put the Lions on the board with a goal at the 21:27 mark. Kevin Vock (Bridgeville, PA/South Fayette) recorded his second assist of the season by putting a cross into the box that Crivelli was able to finish.
Later in the first half, Christian Harrington (Warren, PA/Warren Area) extended Behrend's lead to two in the 39th minute. He took a shot from the corner of the box that beat Bradford goalie Colin Frownfelter. Anton Benedikt (Madison, NJ/Madison) recorded his first assist of the season on the goal.
Freshman Nick McKee (Bridgeville, PA/South Fayette) tallied his second goal of the season in the 84th minute to seal the victory for the Lions. Crivelli recorded his fourth assist to add to his team-leading point total (20).
Behrend returns to action at home on Saturday to take on the La Roche Redhawks at 1 p.m.
