ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's soccer team extended their 10-game winning streak to 11 after beating D'Youville 5-0 in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Play (AMCC) Wednesday night.

Another remarkable performance from the Lion (14-1-1, 8-0 AMCC) defense held the Spartans (2-13, 1-6 AMCC) to just one shot attempt during the game that was not on target. Behrend's offense was widely spread as eight different Lions recorded a point on 40 total shots in the contest.

Behrend's first goal came just over nine minutes into the game. A cross from Matt Dziadosz (Leechburg, PA/Kiski Area) was deflected by the D'Youville goalkeeper and the ball bounced around near the goal line. An own goal occurred when a Spartan defender kicked the ball into his own net trying to clear the it off his goal line.

Senior Sam McSherry (Stow, OH/Stow-Munroe Falls) tallied his second goal of the season six minutes after the own goal. McSherry settled a pass from Anthony Crivelli (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) and calmly tucked a shot into the lower left corner to give Behrend a 2-0 lead.

It took only another six minutes for the Lions to add a third goal. Anton Benedikt (Madison, NJ/Madison) notched his second goal of the season after heading home a point blank shot from six yards out. Matt Baleno (Pittsburgh, PA/Plum) was awarded his first point of the season with the assist.

Evan Augustine (South Park, PA/South Park) later scored his third goal of the season off a free kick at the 56:20 mark. Sean Gallagher (Bethel Park, PA/Bethel Park) played a ball into the box that Dziadosz headed in front of the net. Augustine gathered the loose ball and found the back of the net.

Behrend added their fifth goal of the game in the 81st minute. Scott Repenning (Bayvillage, OH/Bay High School) recorded his first goal of the season. Dakota Lange (Apollo, PA/Kiski Area) played a through ball to Repenning who rifled a shot to the lower right corner to cap a 5-0 victory for the Lions. Lange tallied his first collegiate point with the assist.

Behrend goalies Will Cole (Russell, PA/Eisenhower), Joel Solomon (Mercer, PA/Mercer) and Zack Schindehette (Bethel Park, PA/Bethel Park) all combined to give the Lions their ninth team shutout of the season.

Behrend is back in action for a 1 p.m. kickoff Saturday in the AMCC Game of the Week. They battle Mount Aloysius for the AMCC regular season title and the right to home field advantage throughout the AMCC playoffs.
