ALFRED, NY – Christian Harrington (Warren, PA/ Warren Area) led the Penn State Behrend men's soccer team to a 2-0 shutout victory over the Alfred State Pioneers on Tuesday night. Harrington tallied a goal and an assist during tonight's contest.

The Lions (15-2-1) controlled most of the play during the game. They outshot the Pioneers (4-11-2) 17-4 and only surrendered one corner kick. Senior goalie Joel Solomon (Mercer, PA/Mercer) was forced to make only two saves to earn his third win of the season.

Harrington got Behrend on the board at the 28:23 mark when he converted on a penalty kick. The Alfred State foul earned their defender a red card, forcing the Pioneers to play a man down for the remainder of the match.

The Lions wasted no time extending their lead in once the second half whistle blew. Matt Dziadosz (Leechburg, PA/Kiski Area) notched his sixth goal of the season just four minutes into the half. Harrington was awarded the helper to give him 19 points on the season (7 goals, 5 assists).

Behrend is back in action at home next Wednesday, Nov. 4. They will play the winner of No. 3 seed La Roche and No. 6 seed Hilbert in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) semi-finals. Game time is TBA.
