CRESSON, Pa - The Penn State Behrend men's soccer team scored a pair of goals Sunday afternoon to beat Mt. Aloysius, 2-0.
The Lions (8-1-2, 3-0 AMCC) scored a goal in each half to improve to 3-0 in confrence play and expand their winning streak to six games. Behrend outshot the Mounties (6-4-1, 0-2 AMCC) 12-9 in the match.
The Lions opened up the scoring in the 12th minute when freshman midfielder Aaron Harris (Washington, PA/McGuffey) gathered a loose ball in the box and found the back of the net. Behrend went on to outshoot Mt. Aloysius in the first half by a 7-5 margin.
15 minutes into the second half, the Lions struck again. Junior forward Jared Myers (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) beat Mounties goalkeeper Kyle Lachance at the 60:12 mark to make it a 2-0 game.
Freshman goalkeeper Chris Ralph (Murrysville, PA/Franklin Regional) collected three saves in the match and recorded his sixth shutout of the season. He now holds a 0.49 GAA and has compiled 23 saves.
Behrend will be back at home this Wednesday when they take on Bethany at 5 p.m.
