STEUBENVILLE, Oh - The Penn State Behrend men's soccer team defeated Franciscan 2-1 in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) game of the week Saturday afternoon.

The Lions (12-1-3, 5-0-1 AMCC) competed evenly with the Barons (10-4-1, 6-1 AMCC) throughout the first half, but evntually pulled out the win with a second half goal. Behrend compiled 18 shots compaired to Franciscan's 15.

The Lions wasted no time in the game, getting out to an early 1-0 in the 6th minute of the match. Anthony Crivelli (Cranberry Twp, PA/Seneca Valley) found the back of the net first after his header got past Barons goalkeeper Thomas Dosedel. Ryan Thorsen (Bethel Park, PA/Bethel Park) was credited with the assist. At the 31:23 mark, Leo Herrman evened up the score on his unassisted goal.

Sean Gallagher's (Bethel Park, PA/Bethel Park) goal at the 56:08 mark proved to be the difference maker. Thorsen recorded his second assist of the afternoon after Gallageher's shot from 20' out gave Behrend the lead and eventual win.

The Lions have now outscored opponents 38-8 this season and 14-3 in conference play.

Behrend will be back in action this Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. when they take on Pitt-Bradford at home.
