ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's and women's soccer teams were honored recently for their work in the classroom, earning the United Soccer Coaches 2016-2017 College Team Academic Award.

The men's squad tallied a cumulative GPA of 3.185 for the 2016-17 academic year, marking the third straight year to earn this award. The Lions were one of two AMCC men's teams to be awarded this honor. Mount Aloysius being the other men's soccer program to be recognized.

As for the women, they posted a cumulative GPA of 3.30 last season. The Lions join Pitt-Bradford and Mount Aloysius for the AMCC teams honored for this academic award.
