York, Jones Playing For Erie Commodores

ERIE, Pa. - Penn State Behrend goalkeeper Sam York (Akron, OH/Revere) and incoming freshman Andrew Jones (Girard, PA/Girard) have been selected to play for the Erie Commodores FC in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) this summer.

This past season, York was voted the Most Valuable Player for the Lions. The senior was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Player of the Year and to the All-AMCC first team. York was also chosen to the USC All-Region team. He landed tied for second in shutouts and fifth in goals-against average on the final NCAA men's soccer statistics. York tallied 13 shutouts in 22 games and only allowed 10 goals for a .855 save percentage.

Jones is in his second season with the Commodores and is from Girard, Pa. The defender will be a freshman on the Behrend soccer team in the fall.

Junior Johnathan Swann (Pittsburgh, PA/North Allegheny) is also playing for the Steel City FC, another team in the NPSL, this summer.
