ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's soccer team advanced to the Herb Lauffer Memorial championship game on penalty kick, winning by a 4-2 advantage. Final Score: 1-1 (4-2 PKs won by PSB) Records: Behrend (0-0-1), Alfred (0-0-1) Key Moments: * After a scoreless first half, Blake Cooper (Murrysville, PA/Franklin Regional) got Behrend on the board first with an unassisted goal in the 52nd minute to being the second half * Alfred quickly answered with a goal from Gavin Culley that was assisted by Xavier Bowman * Mason Le (Canonsburg, PA / Canon McMillan) had a chance to give the Lions the lead in the 80th minute, but his shot was sent wide * Justin LeDonne (Murrysville, PA/Franklin Regional) and Justin Hockenberger (Spencerport, NY/Spencerport) began penalty kicks for Lions by beating the Saxons' goalkeeper. They were followed up by a successful penalty kick by Zak Schwarzel (South Park, PA / South Park) * Senior goalkeeper Sam York (Akron, OH / Revere) made a big save on a penalty kick by Alfred's Chase Freeland who was third up in the order for the Saxons.
