ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's soccer team scored a 1-0 shutout victory over Franciscan in the second round of the ECAC Championships Sunday afternoon.

Key Moments:

* To start the game, John Ziobro (Westtown, NY/Minisink Valley) had a great scoring opportunity in the fifth minute, but his shot was sent off the post
* Another great scoring opportunity for the Lions came in the 23^rd minute, Nate Coleman (Vandergrift, PA/Kiski Area) sent a breakaway shot off the body of Franciscan's goalkeeper Jax Mautone
* The Lions got on the board in the 35^th minute, thanks to an own goal by the Barons
* A Franciscan defender attempted to head the ball out of the box, but it ended up trickling in to the back of the net
* Behrend's defense was able to secure the win in the final period, holding the Barons to only three second half shots to earn its 11^th shutout of the season
* Goalkeeper Sam York (Akron, OH/Revere) finished with three saves to earn his seventh shutout
* Johnathan Swann (Allison Park, PA/North Allegheny) led the Lions with three shots, while Joseph St. George and Augustine Rubino each tallied a team-high two shots for the Barons
* As a team, Behrend outshot Franciscan, 14-8. Nine of the Lions 14 shots were on goal
