Lions, Cougars Play To One-All Draw

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's soccer team finished in a one-all draw against Chatham on Saturday afternoon.

Key Moments:

* The first 15 minutes of Saturday's contest was a defensive battle as their was only one shot on goal between both teams
* In the 20^th minute, Chatham broke the scoreless tie with a goal by Bennett Haas
* The ball bounced around in the box and found the foot of Haas who deposited it in the back of the net
* Behrend had three good chances in the next few minutes with shots just missing from Cole Thomas (Pittsburgh, PA/Baldwin), Blake Cooper (Murrysville, PA/Franklin Regional), and Dylan Akut (Pittsburgh, PA/Plum)
* Izeyah Romo tried to extend the Cougars lead in the 35^th minute but his shot was deflected out of play by Lions' goalkeeper Anthony Scalise (North Huntingdon, PA/Norwin)
* The Lions ramped up the pressure in the second half, controlling possession and allowing only three shots for Chatham
* Behrend knotted the score at one apiece in the 62^nd minute off a corner kick

* Defender Brock Kiefer (Eighty-Four, PA/Canon McMillan) made back-to-back team saves with Scalise caught out of the net in the 88^th minute to ensure a draw for the Lions
* The Lions outshot the Cougars 23-7 with a 9-2 advantage in corner kicks on Saturday
* Profaca and Reilly Nickles (Pittsburgh, PA/Moon Area) led the way for Behrend with four shots apiece
* In net, Scalise tallied two saves, while his counterpart Cottrill recorded seven stops
