Lions Finish In Scoreless Draw vs. Pioneers

Key Moments:
* The Pioneers had an early scoring opportunity with a shot in the seventh minute by Henry Leahy that was turned away on a diving stop by Behrend goalkeeper Anthony Scalise (North Huntingdon, PA/Norwin)
* Scalise tallied another diving save in the 14th minute to keep Alfred State off the scoreboard
* Behrend's best opportunity in the first half came in the 32nd minute when a loose ball in front of the net off a header was cleared by a Pioneer defender
* As expected, it was a defensive battle in the first 45 minutes for both teams as there were only two shots on goal
* The Lions controlled most of the possession in the second half, outshooting Alfred State, 6-2
* The two best scoring chances came from Reilly Nickles (Pittsburgh, PA/Moon Area) and Owen Petersen (Erie, PA/McDowell)
* In the 63rd minute, Nickles' header off a corner kick bounced around the front of the net and was booted out by the Alfred State goalkeeper Alexander Preston, while Petersen fired a low lining shot that was also saved by the Preston in the 81st minute
* Nickles and Blake Cooper (Murrysville, PA/Franklin Regional) both recorded a team-high three shots for Behrend, while Chuck Domm led Alfred State with three shots
* Scalise finished with two saves, while his counterpart Preston made four stops
* This marks the third draw of the season and second in conference play for Behrend and the first tie of the year for the Pioneers
