Men's Swimming and Diving in Fourth at Blue Devil Invitational

FREDONIA, NY. – The Penn State Behrend men's swimming and diving team is looking for their fourth straight Fredonia State Blue Devil Invitational title this weekend. The Lions sit in fourth place out of nine teams with 66 points after day one.

Wheeling Jesuit is in first with 139 points, followed by the Blue Devils in second by two points with a 137 total. Allegheny is third (80) and Behrend is fourth with a score of 66.

Dan Simon (Harrison City, PA/Penn-Trafford) the big winner on the night, winning the 50 free with a pool-record time of 21.40. He is just .37 seconds from his program record set last February of 21.03.

Nick Kost (Ashburn, VA/Stone Bridge) finished sixth overall and first on the team in the 200 IM (2:00.89), while Ryan Mitcheltree (Moon Township, PA/Moon) was sixth in 1650 free (17:16.16).

The Lions return to action tomorrow for day two of the Fredonia State Blue Devil Invitational. The preliminaries begin at 10 a.m. with finals starting at 4 p.m.
