GAMBIER, Ohio. – The Penn State Behrend men's swimming and diving team is in the lead with 234 points after three events on day one of the Oberlin Invitational on Friday evening.

Key Moments:

* The Behrend Lions earned 234 points on the first day of competition
* The Lions captured the 800 freestyle relay in 6:56.35
* Chase Bietz (Clearfield, PA/Clearfield), Jacob Schmidt (Erie, PA/Cathedral Prep), James Connolly (Allentown, PA/Parkland) and Quinn Fischer (Fairview, PA/Cathedral Prep) earned 64 points for the relay victory to end the night
* In addition to swimming in the winning relay, Connolly placed second in the 1650 freestyle with a time of 16:28.07
* Liam Watterson (Brentwood, PA/Baldwin), Jacob Eshelman (Franklin, PA/Franklin), Alex Croll (Honolulu, HI/Parkland) and Matt Karenbauer (Butler, PA/Knoch), swam the opening 200 medley relay in 1:37.42  four fourth overall
* The men and women combined for a 361 team score for fourth overall
