Behrend Lions Remain in Second at AMCC Swimming and Diving Championships
The Penn State Behrend men’s swimming team stays in second place after day three of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Championships, in conjunction with the Empire 8 Championships, on Friday.
ROCHESTER, NY – The Penn State Behrend men's swimming team stays in second place after day three of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Championships, in conjunction with the Empire 8 Championships, on Friday.

Noteworthy:
* The Behrend Lions crowned two individual champions on the day
* Tim Compton (Pittsburgh, PA/North Allegheny) won his second AMCC gold medal of the championships to lead off Friday night finals
* Compton registered a winning time of 4:07.50 to capture the 400 IM
* Jake Schmidt (Erie, PA/Cathedral Prep) is the repeat champion in the 200 freestyle
* Schmidt clocked in at 1:43.03 for his first AMCC individual title of this championship
* Matt Karenbauer (Butler, PA/Knoch) led the Lions in the 100 butterfly and the 100 backstroke
* Karenbauer placed second in the 100 back (53.32) and fourth in the 100 butterfly (52.64)
* In the 100 breaststroke, James Connolly (Allentown, PA/Parkland) brought home the silver with a time of 59.91
* The relay of Karenbauer, Connolly, Compton and Schmidt posted a time of 3:31.92 in the 400 medley relay for second overall
