Compton Sets Pool Record; Men's Swimming and Diving Triumph Over Pitt-Bradford

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's swimming and diving team won its third dual-meet of the season, defeating Pitt-Bradford 136-80 in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) action on Saturday.

Key Moments:


* Behrend recorded nine first-place finishes, while Tim Compton (Pittsburgh, PA/North Allegheny) set the pool record in the 400 IM
* Compton, Dan Tanaskovic (Monaca, PA/Central Valley) and Jacob Eshelman (Franklin, PA/Franklin) were triple winners on the day
* Compton swam a pool-record time of 4:18.55 in the 400 IM, while also taking first in the 200 free (1:50.14) and swimming a leg on the winning 200 medley relay
* Compton, Eshelman, Tanaskovic and David Hauptman (Titusville, PA/Titusville) won the relay in 1:42.13
* Eshelman led a 1-2-3 finish in the 100 breaststroke (1:04.03) and then won the 200 backstroke (2:03.35)
* Individually, Tanaskovic won the 100 backstroke (58.06) and then had the fastest time in the 100 freestyle (50.45)
* Hauptman got the win in the 200 breaststroke (2:24.32)
* Ryan Willis (State College, PA/State College) and Thaddeus Johnson (Brookeville, PA/Brookville) led Behrend in the 50 free  and the 1000 free
* Willis came in first in the 50 free (24.34), while Johnson won the 1000 free (11:08.07)
