Tumino Wins 100 Backstroke; Behrend Men's Swimming and Diving Moves Into Third Place at Oberlin

OBERLIN, Ohio – Anthony Tumino (Hershey, PA/Hershey) won the 100 backstroke to help the Penn State Behrend men's swimming and diving team move into third place after the second day of the Oberlin Invite on Friday.

* Tumino is the first to win an event at the Invitational for Behrend with a time of 53.06
* The Lions have totaled 506 points over the course of two days
* Jacob Eshelman (Franklin, PA/Franklin) had the second-best individual finish on the day, tying for second in the 200 free
* Eshelman tied Gannon Mellett of Baldwin Wallace with a time of 1:45.25
* Tumino, Dan Tanaskovic (Monaca, PA/Central Valley), Tim Compton (Pittsburgh, PA/North Allegheny) and Eshelman took sixth place in the morning 800 free relay (3:33.45)
* Tumino, Compton, Jax Abele (Erie, PA/Iroquois) and Ryan Willis (State College, PA/State College) also took sixth in a relay, clocking in with a time of 1:38.61 in the 200 medley relay
* In the 400 IM, Thaddeus Johnson (Brookville, PA/Brookville) placed ninth with a time of 4:34.52
* In the 800 free relay from the morning session, Eshelman, Tanaskovic, Ahmed Ibrahim (Alexandria, Egypt/Rioda) and Mike Pazuchanics (McMurry, PA/Peters Township) took fifth overall with a time of 7:26.66
