Swimming and Diving Gearing Up for 2024 Allegheny Empire Championships
The Penn State Behrend men's and women's swimming and diving team will travel to Webster, NY for the 2024 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC)-Empire 8 Championships on Wednesday, February 14 through Saturday, February 17 at the Webster Aquatic Center.
ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's and women's swimming and diving team will travel to Webster, NY for the 2024 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC)-Empire 8 Championships on Wednesday, February 14 through Saturday, February 17 at the Webster Aquatic Center.
In conjunction, the three Empire 8 institutions (Nazareth, Hartwick, Alfred) will join forces with the AMCC (Penn State Behrend, Penn State Altoona, Wells, Pitt-Bradford, Alfred State) for the fourth Allegheny Empire Championships. At the conclusion of the meet, an Allegheny Empire Women's and Men's Champion will be crowned as well as a Male and Female Swimmer and Diver of the Meet. The top three finishers in each event will also be recognized.

Men
* The Behrend Lions are preparing for their 15th title after a three-year hiatus of capturing the championship
* The Lions took second the last two seasons
* Junior Tim Compton (Pittsburgh, PA/North Allegheny) was a three-time individual champion and four-time runner up at last year's championships
* Compton broke four records and was the AMCC Champion in the 500 free, 400 IM and 200 butterfly
* Will Perham (Upper St. Clair, PA/Upper St. Clair) claimed a pair of individual titles, winning the 100 and 200 breaststroke
* Behrend holds the top times this season in the AMCC in 15 events
Women
* The Behrend women are looking to capture their 13th overall AMCC Crown
* The Lions last won the AMCC title in 2022
* Behrend won four individual events at last year's Championship
* 2023 Diver of the Year, Julia Sank (North East, PA/North East), won both diving events for Behrend
* Sank returns for her final championship, along with AMCC Champions Emma Webster (Bradford, PA/Bradford) and Aliya Webster (Bradford, PA/Bradford)
* Emma Webster won the AMCC title in the 200 backstroke, while Aliya was first in the 1650 free
