Men's Swimming and Diving Knocks Off Allegheny in Dual Meet

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's swimming and diving opened the 2024-25 season with a convincing 189-41 non-conference win over the Allegheny Gators on Saturday at the Junker Center.

* The Behrend Lions swept the top three spots in three of the 14 events won on the day
* Three swimmers won three times to help the Lions get the dual-meet victory
* Anthony Tumino (Hershey, PA/Hershey) was a three-time winner with two individual events and one relay victory
* Tumino won the 200 free (1:49.23) and 100 free (48.21)
* Tim Compton (Pittsburgh, PA/North Allegheny) and Glenn Fowkes (Vandergrift, PA/Kiski Area) were also triple winners
* Individually, Compton won the 200 fly (1:58.31) and the 200 IM (2:02.09)
* Fowkes touched first in the 100 back (54.61) and 200 back (2:04.26)
* All three swimmers mentioned and Will Perham (Upper St. Clair, PA/Upper St. Clair) made up the winning 200 medley relay to start the meet (1:36.23)
* Diver Jacob Earley (Erie, PA/Harbor Creek) won both events on the boards, posting a score of 179.75 on the one meter and 169.40 on the three meter
* Behrend had five other individual winners, starting with Jackson Currier (North East, PA/North East) in the 1000 free (11:58.34)
* Ryan Willis (State College, PA/State College) won the 100 breaststroke (1:04.25), followed by Zachary Turner (Gettysburg, PA/Gettysburg) in the 50 free (22.29) for his first collegiate win
* Perham was the winner in the 200 breaststroke (2:17.40) while Ronan Murphy (Fredonia, NY/Fredonia) led in the 100 fly (55.30)
