Compton, Tumino Set Records; Men's Swimming and Diving Moves Up to Second Place
The Penn State Behrend men's swimming and diving team had two individual and one relay champion, moving into second place after day two of the 2025 SUNYAC-AMCC Championships at the Flickinger Aquatic Center at Erie Community College on Thursday night.
BUFFALO, NY – The Penn State Behrend men's swimming and diving team had two individual and one relay champion, moving into second place after day two of the 2025 SUNYAC-AMCC Championships at the Flickinger Aquatic Center at Erie Community College on Thursday night.
Combined Men's Scores: 1. SUNY Cortland (334), 2. Penn State Behrend (255), 3. SUNY Oswego (165.5), 4. SUNY Oneonta (161), 5. Penn State Altoona (152), 6. SUNY New Paltz (150), 7. Alfred State (125.5), 8. Pitt-Bradford (69), 9. SUNY Fredonia (58), 10. SUNY Potsdam (52)
Noteworthy:
* Tim Compton (Pittsburgh, PA/North Allegheny) and Anthony Tumino (Hershey, PA/Hershey) won the 200 IM and 50 free, respectively, while the 200 free relay claimed the AMCC title and took second overall
* The Lions had five swimmers in the 200 IM finals, including three in the A heat and two in the B heat
* Compton, the leader after the preliminaries in the 200 IM, posted a time of 1:53.13 for first place and three new records
* Compton broke the Team, AMCC Meet and AMCC Open Record
* This is Compton's first championship in the 200 IM
* Will Perham (Upper St. Clair, PA/Upper St. Clair) and Ryan Willis (State College, PA/State College) were finalists in the 200 IM, placing fourth and eighth, respectively
* Tumino led the A finalists with a prelim time of 20.54 and got the gold medal with a time of 20.62 to repeat as champion in the 50 free
* Like Compton, Tumino set a new Team, AMCC Meet and AMCC Open record
* Isaac Stoeckle (Pittsburgh, PA/Avonworth) was a close second to Tumino with a time of 21.21 for silver and Zachary Turner (Gettysburg, PA/Gettysburg) took seventh overall (21.76)
* The 200 free relay took second overall and was the fastest AMCC team with a time of 1:25.37 thanks in part by Stoeckle, Willis, Glenn Fowkes (Vandergrift, PA/Kiski Area) and Turner

* Behrend is back in action tomorrow for day three of the SUNYAC-AMCC Championships. Prelims begin at 10 a.m. with finals at 5:30 p.m.
