Penn State Behrend Men's Tennis Edges Alfred 5-4

The Penn State Behrend men's tennis team edged Alfred 5-4 in a nonconference match on Friday, March 26 to improve to 10-5 on the season.  Behrend athletes won four of the six singles matches and picked up the fifth win at #1 doubles. 

Elliot Blackstone (Wexford/Pine Richland) cruised 6-3, 6-2 at #1 singles, while Chris Galvin (Erie/McDowell) pulled out a win at #2 singles 6-3, 4-6, 6-4. 

Kelly Manning (Sharpsville/Kennedy Catholic) won at #4 singles with a dominant 6-0, 6-2 performance and Brad Nagel (West Alexander/McGuffey) earned a 6-4, 6-1 win at #6 singles.  The doubles team of Blackstone and Galvin earned an 8-5 win at #1 doubles to give Behrend the one-point victory.

The Behrend Lions get right back at it with a conference match against Frostburg State at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 27, capping a run of matches in which the team plays six of seven at home.  The blue and white will then become road warriors, playing the final seven regular season matches on the road.
