Penn State Behrend Men's Tennis Wins 2010 AMCC Championship

The Penn State Behrend Lions made it a "three-peat" after winning the 2010 AMCC Championship.  The Behrend Lions have won the championship the previous three years and this is their fifth overall.

The blue and white racked up 22 total points and outscored runner-up Penn State Altoona by three points (19).  The Behrend Lions took home six individual titles on their way to defending their crown for the second time in consecutive years.

Elliot Blackstone (Wexford/Pine Richland) showed why he is the best men's tennis player in the AMCC.  He teamed up with freshman Chris Galvin (Erie/McDowell) to take the #1 doubles title with a score of 8-3 over second seeded Penn State Altoona.  Blackstone also took home the #1 singles championship by defeating Mike Stevenson of Frostburg State by scores of 7-6 and 6-0.  Blackstone finished the season with an undefeated season in conference competition.

Shane Mosier (Kersey/St.Marys) teamed with Peter Bissert (Pittsburgh/Seton LaSalle) to capture the title in #2 doubles by a final tally of 8-6.  Mosier would also capture the crown in #4 singles by a final scores of 6-3 and 6-0.  Bissert followed that up with a victory in #5 singles over Scott Pickrell of Altoona by scores of 6-4 and 6-0.  Senior Kelly Manning (Sharpsville/Kennedy Catholic) rounded out the Behrend individual champions with a victory in singles play with scores of 5-7, 6-2 and 6-4.

The Penn State Behrend Lions are 16-7 overall and have a conference mark of 10-1.
