Men's Tennis Collects First AMCC Victory

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's tennis team won their first Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) match of the season with an exciting 5-4 victory over Franciscan on Friday afternoon at Westwood Racquet Club.

Elliot Blackstone and Brian Goda were double winners on the day for the Lions (5-11, 1-0 AMCC). Blackstone defeated Leonel Lacayo at No. 1 singles 6-3, 6-4. Goda won in the fifth singles spot with a 6-0, 6-1 score. John Michalko tallied the final win for Behrend in singles competition to capture the victory, handing John Bruce a 6-0, 6-0 decision.

Blackstone teamed with Chris Galvin for an 8-5 win at No. 1 doubles. Goda and Chris Tillman helped the Lions take a 2-1 lead after doubles, winning at No. 3 with a shut-out score of 8-0.

The Lions return to action on Friday against, beginning time is 4 p.m.
