Saxons Get By Lions, 5-4

ERIE, Pa. – Nathan Stucko and Stefan Nonnenmann recorded a comeback win (9-8) at No. 2 doubles to make the difference and help the Alfred men's tennis team defeat Behrend 5-4 in non-conference action on Friday.

Nathan Garlettts and Ryan Parlia were also doubles winners to give the Saxons a 2-1 lead heading into singles play. Elliot Blackstone and Chris Galvin got the lone doubles victory for the Lions (5-12), posting an 8-6 score.

Blackstone and Galvin went on to pick up singles wins. At the No. 1 spot, Blackstone was able to finish Connor Houghton in the tiebreaker, 6-4, 7-6. Galvin collected a 6-3, 6-4 victory at No. 2 singles, while John Michalko won the last singles match for Behrend, defeating Peter Benoit 6-4, 6-3.

The Lions return to action tomorrow against St. John Fisher. Match time is 4 p.m.
