Blackstone Named AMCC Men's Tennis Player of the Year

ERIE, Pa. – Elliot Blackstone became the first individual to be named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Men's Tennis Player of the Year four straight seasons. The senior is also the only student-athlete to accomplish this feat in any AMCC sport.

Blackstone was a four-time champion at No. 1 singles and named to the All-AMCC first team four consecutive seasons. He shared the Player of the Year accolades as a freshman and was tabbed AMCC Newcomer of the Year.  During his four-year career with the Lions, Blackstone went undefeated in singles play and only lost one doubles match in conference competition. He is a four-time team MVP and holds the school record for all-time singles wins, most singles and doubles wins in a season. This year, Blackstone posted a 16-8 record and was also the AMCC Champion at No. 1 doubles and singles.

John Michalko was also a first-team choice at No. 6 singles, while Blackstone and Chris Galvin were selected to the first team at No. 1 doubles.  Michalko won the singles championship in the sixth spot and posted an 11-6 record on the season. Blackstone and Galvin defended their doubles title for the top flight and tallied a 17-5 overall record together.
