Lions Fall to Lakers, 5-4

ERIE, Pa. – Elliott Blackstone and Chris Galvin were double winners, claiming both singles and doubles matches, but the Penn State Behrend men’s tennis team fell to Mercyhurst 5-4 in non-conference action on Wednesday.

Blackstone took Omar Ammouni to three sets for the victory (4-6, 7-6, 13-11) at No. 2 singles. Galvin won at the third spot with a 6-4, 6-4 decision. Matt Slamecka, playing at No. 1, won his match by default.

Blackstone and Galvin tallied the lone doubles point at the first slot, defeating Keith Whittingham and Jorn Van Der Veer, 8-6.

The Lions return to action in the spring on Feb. 12 at Baldwin-Wallace.  Match time is 1 p.m.
