Lions Remain Undefeated in AMCC

GREENSBURG, Pa. – After starting the spring season with seven straight losses, the Penn State Behrend men's tennis team defeated Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) foe Pitt-Greensburg 8-1 on Saturday to record their fifth consecutive victory.

With the win, the Lions (6-9, 4-0 AMCC) remain undefeated in the conference play and will put their unblemished mark on the line tomorrow at unbeaten Franciscan.

Taimi Ando (Franklin Lakes, NJ/Ramapo), the current AMCC Player of the Week, shut out opponent CJ Price 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles. Chris Galvin (Erie, PA/McDowell) and Mason Marion (Ellwood City, PA/Riverside) also won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 and No. 5 singles, respectively.

Lerdlarp Jaturapol (Bangkok, Thailand/Palmerslon) and Raphael Bretz (Wexford, PA/Allegheny) also picked up singles wins for Behrend.

In doubles action, Alex Prichard (Erie, PA/Cathedral Prep) and Bretz were 8-0 winners at the third spot. Jaturapol and Marion tallied an 8-1 decision at No. 2, while Ando and Galvin earned the same score in the top spot.

The Lions return to action tomorrow at Franciscan. Match starts at 1 p.m.
