Lions Too Much For Alfred

ALFRED, NY – The Penn State Behrend men's tennis team had three players win twice to lead the Lions over Alfred 8-1 in non-conference action on Saturday.

The win marks Behrend's second straight after sweeping Westminster last night, 9-0.

Taimi Ando (Franklin Lakes, NJ/Ramapo) and Chris Galvin (Erie, PA/McDowell) are 2-0 on the weekend at No. 1 doubles. The pair posted an 8-2 victory against Connor Doud and Peter Benoit, before winning their singles matches. Ando registered a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles and Galvin followed with a three-set victory (6-2, 4-6, 7-6) at No. 2.

Lerdlarp Jaturapol (Bangkok, Thailand/Palmerslon)  and David Buiter (London, England/IMG Academies) were successful at second doubles with an 8-5 win. Jaturapol went on to record a 6-3, 6-3 decision at No. 3 singles.

Alfred managed to win No. 3 doubles with an 8-3 decision.

Raphael Bretz (Wexford, PA/North Allegheny) made it two in a row at No. 5 singles, this time winning 6-1, 6-1. Carson Emili (Pittsburgh, PA/Mt. Lebanon) earned the final win at No. 6 singles, blanking Dalton Divine 6-0, 6-0.

The Lions return to action tomorrow against D'Youville. Match begins at 2 p.m.
