Three Straight Wins for Men's Tennis

ERIE, Pa. – It was a complete sweep for the Penn State Behrend men's tennis team against D'Youville, winning 9-0 in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC)  opener for both teams on Sunday at Westwood Racquet Club.

The Lions (3-6) won three straight matches this weekend, only losing one game point on Saturday to Alfred.

Lerdlarp Jaturapol (Bangkok, Thailand/Palmerslon) and David Buiter (London, England/IMG Academies) were 8-1 winners at No. 2 doubles, while Raphael Bretz (Wexford, PA/North Allegheny) and Guillermo Guillen (San Pedro Sula, Honduras/E.I.S) posted the same score at third doubles.

Taimi Ando (Franklin Lakes, NJ/Ramapo) and Chris Galvin (Erie, PA/McDowell) recorded a 8-3 victory at top doubles over Rob Anobile and Jericko Gonzalez.

All six doubles winners were victorious at singles.

At No. 3 singles, Jaturapol swept his opponent 6-0, 6-0 and Carson Emili (Pittsburgh, PA/Mt. Lebanon) earned the same decision at the six spot.

Buiter only gave up one set point at No. 4 singles to win 6-1, 6-0 over Jim Moran. The top two spots belonged to Ando and Galvin. Ando posted a 6-2, 6-2 victory at No. 1 and Galvin tallied a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 2 singles.

Behrend returns to action on Monday, March 4 against Eastern Nazarene in Hilton Head, S.C. Match time is 12 p.m.
