Wilkes, Wittenberg Defeat Men's Tennis

HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Penn State Behrend men's tennis team had two matches on the second day of spring break, falling to Wilkes 9-0 and Wittenberg 8-1 in non-conference action on Tuesday.

Against Wilkes, the Lions almost picked up a win at No. 1 doubles but Taimi Ando (Franklin Lakes, NJ/Ramapo) and Chris Galvin (Erie, PA/McDowell) lost to Steven Wilson and Alex Makos by a close score, 9-7.

Wilkes was able to take all three doubles and all six singles for the win.

In the second match and for the second straight day, Lerdlarp Jaturapol (Bangkok, Thailand/Palmerslon) earned the lone win for Behrend. He went three sets with Sergio Fishkin, winning 7-5, 4-6 and 7-6.

The Lions return to action on Thursday against Misericordia. Match begins at 8:30 a.m.
