Men's Tennis Eases Past Mt. Aloysius

CRESSON, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's tennis team recorded their second Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) win by blanking Mt. Aloysius 9-0 on Friday night.

The Lions (6-9, 2-0 AMCC) only surrendered three set points the entire match. Behrend collected wins in all three doubles games. At the second spot, Raphael Bretz (Wexford, PA/North Allegheny) and Guillermo Guillen (San Pedro Sula, Honduras/E.I.S) posted an 8-0 victory. Sujyot Mony (Bnagalore, India/Dubai International Academy) and John Paul Allegretto (Johnsonburg, PA/Johnsonburg) earned the same score at No. 3 doubles.

Taimi Ando (Franklin Lakes, NJ/Ramapo) and Chris Galvin (Erie, PA/McDowell) gave up a set point for an 8-1 win in No. 1 doubles play.

Ando, competing at No. 1 singles, was one of four to post shut-out victories with a 6-0, 6-0 decision. Lerdlarp Jaturapol (Bangkok, Thailand/Palmerslon) had the same score in the third spot, Bretz followed at No. 5 and Carson Emili (Pittsburgh, PA/Mt. Lebanon) blanked his opponent playing six singles.

At second singles, Galvin tallied a 6-0, 6-1 victory and David Buiter (London, England/IMG Academies) earned the same score in the fourth spot.

Behrend returns to action tomorrow against Penn State Altoona. The AMCC match begins at 11 a.m.
