Men's Tennis Downs Pitt-Bradford

BRADFORD, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's tennis team recorded their fifth straight and third consecutive Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) win with a 9-0 victory over Pitt-Bradford on Tuesday night.

The win also marks the third straight time the Lions (8-9, 4-0) have shut out a conference opponent. Behrend swept the doubles competition with 8-1 scores across the board, before winning all six singles.

Taimi Ando (Franklin Lakes, NY/Ramapo) defeated Allan Miller 6-0 and 6-1 at No. 1 singles, while Chris Galvin (Erie, PA/McDowell) won in second singles by a 6-3, 6-3 decision.

Lerdlarp Jaturapol (Bangkok, Thailand/Palmerslon) blanked Ian Vaughn in the third spot 6-0, 6-0, followed by a win from David Buiter (London, England/IMG Academies) with a 6-3, 6-0 decision.

Raphael Bretz (Wexford, PA/North Allegheny) won the fifth singles over Ryan Meyer, 6-4, 6-0. The sixth singles belonged to Carson Emili (Pittsburgh, PA/Mt. Lebanon) by a score of 6-0, 6-0.

Behrend returns to action on Saturday, April 6 against Pitt-Greensburg. The match begins at 3 p.m.
