Altoona Topples Behrend in Men's Tennis

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's tennis team dropped their second straight Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) match this season, falling 7-2 to Penn State Altoona on Saturday night at Westwood Racquet Club.

Altoona started with three wins at doubles and then swept 2-3-4 singles and earned the final win at No. 6.

David Buiter (London, England/IMG Academies) and Brett Palmer (North East, PA/North East) were victorious for the Lions (13-3, 2-2 AMCC) in singles play. Buiter won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, while Palmer remains strong at No. 5, earning a 6-2, 4-6, 7-6 victory.

George Tomogia (Reading, PA/Wilson) had a close singles match at No. 6. He won the first set 6-4 and then fell 6-3, 7-6 in the next two sets.

Behrend returns to action tomorrow at Pitt-Greensburg. The match begins at 1 p.m.
